Walter Raynard Graham, age 71, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2023 in Savannah, GA. He was born August 3, 1952 in Savannah, GA to the late Walter and Edith Graham.
On September 10, 1973 Walter was united in holy matrimony to Celestine Lawton. To this union three children were born, Raymone, Chaquita and Toniktra.
Walter was a veteran and served 20 years in the U.S. Army Medical Field and later as an Equal Opportunity Advisor. After retiring from the Military, he attended Georgia Corrections Academy where he completed with Honors. Walter also graduated cum laude from St. Leo College with a degree in Criminology. He later attended Savannah Technical College and received certification as Health Care Assistant.
Walter was an avid golfer for over 50 years. He was a man with a beautiful spirit. He was a family man who loved his family and would do anything to support them. Walter was a father figure and advisor to many. He was welcoming and he never met a stranger. He was loved by all who met him.
Walter leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Celestine Graham; one son, Raymone (Brijette) Graham of Hinesville, GA; two daughters, Chaquita (Anthony) Wilmer of Midway, GA and Toniktra (Larry) Howard of Phenix City, AL; eight grandchildren: Brandon Bugett, JaJuan Howard, Keirah Graham, Makayla Howard, Elijah Howard, Omega Graham, Anayah Graham, and Aliyah Howard; special grand, Shayla Evans; special great grand, A’Nylah Evans; one brother, Nathaniel (Lenora) Hill; one sister, Bernice (Simon) Scott; four brothers-in-law: Samuel (Annie) Simmons, Freddie (Michelle) Lawton, Leonard Lawton and Timothy (Yenty) Lawton; two sisters-in-law, Patricia (Charles) Dixon and Delores Lawton Lovett; two special nieces, LaWanda M. Scott and Tonya J. Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
