Sidney Nolan Obituary

Our beloved Sister Sidney K Miller Young Nolan, 68 entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.  Sidney K was born to Mr. James B. Miller and Mrs. Leola R Miller on July 17, 1953 in Hinesville, Georgia. During Sidney K’s earlier years, She attended the public schools of Liberty County, Georgia. In 1971 she graduated from Liberty County High. After graduating from high school, Sidney K moved to Baltimore Maryland and began a career in the Baltimore City Housing Authority.

While in Baltimore Sidney K met Norman Nolan and in 1990 they married, a union many would say was a match truly made in heaven. Sidney K retired from the Baltimore City Housing Authority after 39 years. Thereafter she returned home to Liberty county where she enjoyed her new life of retirement and crocheting.

Sidney K was a loyal servant to God first and foremost. She loved her church and loved talking about her savior, Jesus Christ. she was an active member of Community Missionary Baptist Church in Midway Georgia.

Sidney K joins her spouse Mr. Norman Nolan, her parents Mr. James B. Miller and Mrs. Leola R Miller, her three Brothers Mr. Anthony Winn Young, and Mr. James (Jamesiboy) Miller Jr., Mr. Nathaniel McGirt and Mr. Joseph R. McGirt in Heaven. 

Sidney K is survived by her three children Monique Queen of MD, Norman Nolan Jr (Pinkie) of Irvine CA, Jameel Nolan of Roswelle GA. 

Her eleven siblings Mrs. Iona Kelly of Hinesville, GA, Ms. Ellen Miller of Midway GA, Mr. Wridge Miller (Priscilla), Mr. Earl Miller, Ms. Petrest McGirt, Ms. Yvonne Akins, Ms. Patsy McGirt, Mr. Jadawn McGirt (Audrey), Ms. Ilka Miller and Ms. Pamela Miller all of Hinesville, GA, and Mr. Dwayne McGirt (Tiffany) of Charleston, SC.

Her Step-Mother Mrs. Johnnie Mae McGirt-Miller of Hinesville, GA, her mother-in-Law Sylva W. Nolan of MD, Five Sister-in-Laws, Cecelia Smith of MD, Rogerlin Turner (James) VA, Cordell Jackson, Willbur Jackson (Sissy), William Jackson (Donna) all of MD. Two Uncles Mr. Theodore White Jr (Patricia), Mr. John Nolan Sr. (Lizzie) Two aunts Mrs. Edna Mae Miller of Hinesville, GA and Betty Silver of MD. 

Four God-Children Darren Jackson (Topeka) of Hinesville GA, Dorien Jackson of Pooler, GA, Charles Bass, VA, Latrice Price, Bry’Shawana Johnson both of Baltimore MD, 

Three Nephews Mr. Derek Miller (Felicia) of Midway GA, Mr. Wridge Miller Jr.(Alexis), of Hinesville GA and Kendall Darden, of Atlanta GA, Three Nieces Mrs. Wregina Carryl (Martin) and Ms. Mignon Banks-Miller both of Hinesville, GA and Jacklyn Harrison of Baltimore MD and a host great nieces\nephews great-great nieces\nephews and other family and friends.
