Roy Lee Lewis was born May 3 rd 1953, in Ludowici, Georgia. He was the beloved son of the late Eugene and Melvira Smith-Lewis. He transitioned to his eternal home on Monday, November 13th 2023, at the Memorial Medical Center, Savannah, Georgia. He was raised in Ludowici, Georgia.
Roy was married to the late Bonita Lewis for 31 years. Together they were blessed with three lovely children: Tamala Demetrius, Roy Jermaine, and Isaac Bonnell. He attended Ludowici High School, where he was a member of the Band, a stellar Track & Field student athlete, and a Straight-A student.
Mr. Lewis worked for ITT Rayonier in Jesup, Georgia for 15 years and soon became a successful entrepreneur as the CEO and Founder of Lewis & Son Cleaning Services. His love for his family will forever be cherished.
He was preceeded in death by his loving wife, Mrs. Bonita Lewis and two siblings: David Earl & Lorenda Lewis.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory to his loving children, one daughter: Tamala (Sharif) Lewis of Manchester, NH; two sons: Roy Jermaine Lewis of Hinesville, GA; and Isaac Bonnell Lewis of Dorchester, MA. A loving daughter in love, Isha D. of Hinesville, GA; twelve siblings: Melvin (Laura) Lewis, Ricky Lewis, all of Hinesville, GA; Melvina (David) Deverger, Ida Varnedoe, John (Willa) Lewis, all of Midway, GA; Kathy (Rev. Larry) Gadson, Troy Lewis, and Eric (Sarah) Lewis all of Savannah, GA; Melody (Apostle Michael) Riles of Fayetteville, NC; and Thomas (Fontella) Lewis of Norfolk, VA; Six grandchildren: Kordell, Jamal, Priscilla, Christopher, Jayden and Kai Lewis; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, family and friends.
