Mayor Joseph (Joe) E. Harris
Mayor Joseph Harris transitioned from his earthly home into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at St. JosephHospital in Savannah GA.
He was born on May 8, 1986, in Beaufort SC. Mayor Harris is a 2005 graduate of Seminole High School in Seminole, Fl. He is a 2009 graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (F.A.M.U.) in Tallahassee, FL with a B.A. in Business and a 2016 graduate of Savannah State University in Savannah, Ga where he earned his M.B.A. in Business.
He is an ordained Elder in the Southeastern Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) under the leadership of Presiding Bishop Benjamin P. Collins, Pastor of Bread Of Life (C.O.G.I.C.).
Mayor Joseph (Joe) Harris was elected as the Mayor of Riceboro, GA and sworn into office Jan. 2020 where he dedicated himself whole heartly to serving his community. And In addition to being the Mayor, Mr. Harris was a teacher at Lyman Hall Elementary.
He is survived by his mother Priscilla Stewart Harris, His father Joseph N. Harris Jr., Devoted grandmother Elder Katie Gordon, Grandfather Earnest (Naomi) Brown, Siblings Corey (Alicia) Harris, Josett (Jamole) Nicholson, Stephanie Jenkins, and Crystal Harris
