Ms. Linda Marie Harris was born August 12, 1958, in Riceboro, GA to Reatha Mae Harris and Eddie Lee Howard Sr. of Riceboro, GA also, a devoted stepfather James Johnson Jr. of Deerfield Beach, Florida. Linda was reared by her loving grandmother the late Mrs. Gussie Harris also of Riceboro, GA.
Being a native of Riceboro, GA, Linda received her education in the Liberty County School System and graduated from Bradwell Institute in 1976. Linda furthered her education to become a Certified Nursing Assistant from Savannah Technical College in 1997. Soon after she began her career at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health Systems as a Certified Nursing Assistant until her retirement in 2020.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devout member of New Anderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Riceboro, GA under the Leadership of the late Reverend Lamar Kelley and the current Pastor Reverend Edgar Timmons. Her faithfulness, compassion and servant heart led to her being appointed as President of the choir along with additional auxiliaries of the church.
She was preceded in death by her sister Michelle Bernice Johnson.
Linda leaves to cherish her memories; her loving parents Rita Mae Johnson (James Jr.), Deerfield Beach, FL and Eddie Lee Howard Sr. of Atlanta, GA ; her sons Lashon (Lisa) Harris of Deerfield Beach, FL, Cornelius (Brandi) Harris of Hinesville, GA, her daughter Sametria (Robert II) Heck of Orange Park, FL; her sisters Denise (Jimmie Lee) Davis, Pamela (Randy Sr.) Gervin, Bernadette Johnson, Remonica Johnson all of Deerfield Beach FL, Alicia (Joseph) Williams of Sarasota, FL and her brothers Eddie Lee Howard Jr. of Atlanta, GA and James Johnson Jr. of Deerfield Beach, FL. She was reared with Elaine (Sylvester) Moore of Hinesville, GA, Robert (Rose) Taylor of Queens New York and Charles Harris of Oxnard, CA. Six adoring grandchildren Eric Rand, Robert Heck III, Chamar Harris, Zyteona Cook, Jessica Rowe, Khylee Harris and one great-granddaughter Chanel Harris. She also has a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that all loved her dearly.
