Joshua Demetrius Crooks Jr. transcended on February 23, 2022, in Raeford, NC.
He was born on April 25, 2003, in Hinesville, GA, but called Spring Lake, NC his home after traveling around being a military brat. He was a high school graduate from Pine Forest High School with honors and made it to nationals with the Future Business Leaders of America, along with being the creator and CEO of HekaSeaMoss LLC. He was an educated young black man with dreams and ambitions to educate others. Spending time with loved ones was one of Joshua’s favorite things. With his vibrant personality, beautiful soul, and a smile that could light up any room, he made an impact on everyone he ever encountered. He was a very intelligent young man, and he was able to accomplish more in his 18 years than some could in a whole lifetime.
He was survived by his loving mother Lakeshia Crooks and his loving father Joshua Demetrius Crooks Sr. of Spring Lake, NC. He leaves his little sister, Amya Crooks, and little brother, Lennox Crooks of Spring Lake, NC. His devoted Great Grandfather Ralph Crooks, Grandparents: Ernestine and Curtis Dixon, of Hinesville, GA Patrick Crooks of Hinesville, GA. Aunts: Lystrea Crooks of New Jersey, Crystal Dixon, of Tampa, FL, Keyana Crooks, of Hinesville, GA, Uncles: Patrick Crooks Jr, of NY, Jermaine Crooks, of Hinesville, GA, a Godmother Michelle Stucky, of Washington DC, and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Joshua will forever be remembered for being charismatic, selfless, swaggy, and wise well beyond his years. One of Joshua’s quotes was:

Funeral arrangements will begin at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 12, 2022, at St. James Gym in Midway. Ga. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Flower donations can be made through Florabelle Florist or can be sent to Dorchester Funeral Home no later than Thursday. The family would like to thank each and every one of you for your loving gestures and support.
