Obituary for Mrs. Jessie Mae Hines Jones

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. Psalm 23:1
Jessie Mae Hines Jones was born in Liberty County, Georgia to the late Deacon Simon Hines, Jr and Deaconess Jessie Mae Hines on January 23, 1955. She gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Jessie graduated from Bradwell Institute in Hinesville, Georgia with the class of 1973. At an early age, she was baptized at First Zion Baptist Church in Riceboro, Ga. under the leadership of Reverend Moore. She was a devoted and dedicated member of her church where she served faithfully on several committees including Hospitality, Benevolent, Anniversary and Chairperson of the Graduation committee. She was also a member of the United Voices of Zion, and she really loved singing in the choir and lifting praises to God.
Jessie recently retired from the Liberty County School System after over 35 years of service. Her last position as Student Information System (SIS) Operator was at Taylors Creek Elementary School in Hinesville, Ga. She loved working in the school system and her fun-loving spirit and infectious smile, and laughter gained her many friends over her career.
She was a member of the Ruth Richardson Family Ties Club for over 25 years. During these years, she travelled on multiple trips with the group supporting the 100 Black Men of America, Inc.
Jessie enjoyed community events, family and friend’s gatherings, as well as travelling, especially to visit her grandchildren. She really loved bringing them home with her each summer and driving them around to visit everyone.
