Inez Fuller Stevens transitioned from this life on Friday, October 15, 2021, surrounded by her children at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
Inez was born on October 12, 1935, in Sunbury, Georgia to Ceasar Fuller and Rosa Jackson Fuller, who both preceded her in death. She was the youngest of six siblings; Virgil, Cleo, Elease, and Ceasar Jr., who all preceded her in death and Albert (Harriett) Green, Midway, Georgia. She was educated in the Liberty County School System graduating from high school in 1954. After graduating from high school, she married the love of her life, Clement Stevens Jr. and took on the role of being a homemaker and then a mother. She was a substitute teacher and later went on to becoming a full-time employee of the Liberty County Board of Education for many years. She loved going to church and joined Sunbury Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, where she served on the usher board for over 60 years.
Although she only had two biological children, Inez was a mother, grandmother, and Auntie to many. She loved everyone she met and always looked for the good in everyone. She always told her family to smile because “Smiling carries you a Long Way”.
Inez leaves to cherish her memory and carry on in her name, two daughters, Rosie (Horace) Fleming, Sr. and Holly (Nolan) Fields, and one son, Deryll (Lucille) Stevens, all of Midway, Georgia. Six grandchildren, Angelica Fleming, Jordan Fields, Horace L. Fleming, Jr., Madysen Fields, Ivy Inez Brown and Amber Michelle Brown. Three great-grandchildren, Lawrence Carter III, Arliss Fleming and Future Fleming. Two foster daughters, Charlotte (Charlie) Merritt, of Moreno Valley, California and Sonya (Michael) Nickelson, of Atlanta, Georgia. Two god-children, Angela Stevens and LaToya Stevens, two additional sisters-in-law, Venus Fuller and Zelda Stevens and a host of extended family members and friends.
