Mr. Haywood Crumby Jr. was born on June 17, 1958 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Haywood Crumby and Arcelia Robinson Crumby. He was called from labor to reward on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at St. Joseph Candler Hospital of Savannah, GA. Haywood was educated in the Duval County Public School System. At an early age, he attended Mother Midway AME Church in Jacksonville, FL and later became a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Hinesville, GA.

On September 1, 1979 he was united in holy matrimony to the former Evonne Burden; they shared 41 years together as husband and wife.

Junior could walk into any room and light it up with his enthusiasm to meet new people and talk. He enjoyed playing cards, having a good birthday party, seafood fest, and travelling wherever his heart desired but especially trips back home to Jacksonville, FL. He was never shy for a good joke and dance. It is sure that we all have a token saying from Junior that we will never forget.

Aside from his family, JR’s greatest devotions were to the military; travelling the world serving this country. He served honorably in the Marines as a senior non-commissioned officer in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In the United States Army, he achieved the rank of First Sergeant of the 226 transportation company. After 34 cumulative years of federal service in the Army, culminating as a Material Handler (Forklift Operator). Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS).

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Haywood and Arcelia Crumby; three brothers, Norman Robinson, Roosevelt Robinson, Clarence Robinson; two sisters, Altamese Robinson, Vernell Breedlove.

He leaves behind a loving and devoted family: wife, Mrs. Evonne Burden Crumby; two sons, Haywood Jerrell (Michelle) Crumby, Brian (Natasha) Crumby; four grandchildren, Micah Medley, Hope Crumby, Carson Crumby, Blake Crumby; three sisters, Evelyn Ishmael and Joan Peterson of Jacksonville, FL, Johnnie Mae Leslie of Bronx, NY; three brothers, Jerome Robinson of Rochester, NY, Levern Crumby of Jacksonville, FL, Rodney (Misaki) Robinson of Melbourne, FL.
