Hattie Ophelia Jones Ray was born on August 7, 1927, the eighth child of eleven to her parents Maxie R. Jones, Sr. and Mrs. Rosa Ella Jones, who both preceded her in death. Hattie passed away peacefully on October 16, 2021 at the age of 94. She was a lifelong member of St. James A.M.E. Church in the Young Grove Community. Hattie attended school in Liberty County, Ga. She resided in the Bronx, NY for most of her adult years. She returned home in 2015 to spend quality time with her two daughters,and her grandchildren .She,without a doubt,loved her family.
She leaves to Cherish her memories: Two daughters: Gloria (Aaron) Robinson; Fleming, Ga and Savata Ray; Savannah, Ga. Three Grandchildren: Kimberly (Kimmie) Robinson, Ursula ”Icey” Melendez of Fleming, Ga., Antwine ”Buck”( Gwenette) Robinson, Riceboro, Ga. Nine Great Grandchidren: Brandon Atkins, X’Zavius ( Monique) Atkins, Aaron Robinson, Shanteria Davis, Davon Robinson, Nicholas Robinson, Sr. Antwine Davis, Tre’maine Melendez “Tre” II, Kynnedy Melendez “ her pretty black girl”. Ten Great-Great Grandchildren: Aaron ”Skimp” Robinson, Jr., Nicholas Robinson, Jr., Bailor Robinson, Malani Atkins, Mylon Atkins, Kiera Atkins, Brandon Atkins, Jr., Onyx Atkins, Golden Atkins, Bailey Atkins.
