Our Condolences to the family of Etta M. Ash.
Mrs. Etta Mae Ash, 96, was born in Glennville, Georgia on Dec. 8, 1924. Mrs. Ash entered eternal rest on March 13, 2021, at her home in Hinesville.
At an early age she dedicated her life to Christ and was a lifelong dedicated member of Bethel AME Church of Hinesville. She served 35 years at Hinesville First United Methodist Church as Nursery Director.
Etta Mae was preceded in death by her father, George Proctor Sr. and mother, Mary Etta King Proctor; husband, Perry Ash II; three sisters Hattie Moore, Eloise Roberts, Mary Jane White; son Keith Edward Ash and a son-in-laws, Hailie Sheppard Jr. and Gregory R. Romer. She is survived by her brother George Proctor Jr. of Hinesville; five children, Emma Tillman (Amos), Willie Ash (Linda), Perry Ash III, Betty Sheppard (Hailie), Carolyn Ash (Gregory), all of Hinesville; grandchildren, Cornealius Tillman (Michelle), Robert K. Tillman (Genevia), Anthony (Desiree’), Fredrick Ash, Fonzell Ash, James Logue, Krista Robinson, Kaitlin Robinson, Perry Ash IV, Tamara D. Freeman (Gregory D.), Christen Levi and Dominic Ash; 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Her children lovingly cared for her during her extended illness with assistance from the staff at Help at Home and GHC Hospice. The family gives them and everyone else who cared for her their mother the greatest gratitude.
The visitation for Mrs. Ash is open to the public from 1-3pm on Saturday March 20, 2021.
