On the morning of September 18, 2023, Ernest Sapp, Jr. was called home to be with the Lord. He was born on September 12, 1977, in Avon Park, Florida to his loving parents Diana McRae-Sapp and Ernest Sapp, Sr.
Ernest was baptized at an early age. He was a faithful member of Antioch Mission Temple Church of God in Christ, Hinesville, Georgia. He loved the Lord and served in various ministries such as the Youth, Hospitality, Usher Board, Choir and Audio Visual.
Ernest graduated from Jenkins High School in Savannah, Georgia. Upon graduation he attended Georgia Military College. He also attended Fort Valley State and Bethune Cookman University.
On January 14, 2000, Ernest was married to Jennifer Lamar Sapp and from this union, Ernest Sapp, III was born. Ernest was a veteran of the United States National Guard. He also was employed by overseas contractors (Afghanistan and Thailand), the Federal State Prison in Gatesville, Texas, and the Boys & Girls Club in Sebring, Florida.
His most recent employment was with the City of Walthourville, Georgia in the Public Works Department. Ernest loved the community of Walthourville passionately. He served the citizens of Walthourville well above and beyond the call of duty.
Ernest leaves behind to cherish his memories, his son, Ernest Sapp, III of Macon, Georgia; mother, Diana McRae-Sapp of Avon Park, Florida; father, Ernest (Mamie) Sapp, Sr. of Orlando, Florida; brother, Johnnie B. (Chaia) Sapp of Hinesville, Georgia; sister, Antoinette Keaton of Hinesville, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
