Deacon Charlie Fuller passed away peacefully on August 31, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Deacon Fuller was born May 2, 1935 to the late Jackson and Laura Bell Fuller in Sunbury, GA. Deacon Fuller was a loving husband, brother, grandfather who exemplified the true definition of a man of God.
He attended Seabrook Elementary in Sunbury, GA and Liberty County High School in Hinesville, GA. After school, he worked for Coastal EMC in Midway, GA. During this time is when he met his beautiful wife,
Lula Mae Fuller. The two made their way to Prattsburg, NY where they married on September 15, 1956 and lived there for 29 years. Heworked at the Prattsburg Creamery for 25 years where he retired. After
retirement, he moved his family to Richmond Hill, GA in 1985 where he began working with Adams Construction in Savannah, GA and retired in 2000.
For many years, he served at Sunbury Baptist Church as a Deacon and transitioned into Chairman of the deacon board. He served in thisposition for many years. Throughout the years, he received multiple
achievements for his dedication and faithfulness to the church and the community. After his health declined, he no longer could fulfill his duty as Chairman of the Deacon Board.
As a devoted husband of 67 years to Mother Lula Mae Fuller and Father of five children: two sons- Julius Clark Sr. (Patricia) of Elmira, NY and Charles Fuller (Donna) of Prattsburg, NY; four daughters- the late Gwendolyn Wyche (Robert) of Elmira, NY, Vivian Clark, Joann Jackson and Wanda Shephard (Roosevelt) all of Richmond Hill, GA, like a daughter- Alana Williams of Winder, GA; Four brothers- (preceded in death- Horace, Jackson and Edward Fuller), Esau Fuller (Olivia) Sunbury, GA; four sisters- (preceded in death, Sadie), Carrie Bell of Chicago, Illinois, Ophelia Brunson (Robert) of White Plains, NY and Helen Grace of VA Beach, VA. Seventeen grandchildren, forty- three great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and a devoted church family, his legacy will live forever.
