Clyde Marion Boyd, Sr. (3) child of ten, was born September 26, 1923 in Long County, Georgia, to the late Earnest Franklin and Eula Wright Boyd. He departed this life peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the home of his eldest son and daughter-in law, Clyde Marion and Susan Boyd, Jr.
He served in the United States Army in World War II and was Honorably discharged.
He was a Brick Mason by trade and retired from the Fort Steward Army Base as a Civil Service worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earnest Franklin and Eula Wright Boyd, eight siblings: Brothers Willie, Jessie and Horace C., sisters Beatrice Walker, Lorraine Smith, Carlene Cummings, Rita Bell, and Mildred Elder. One Daughter Jeannette Boyd Bacon. One great-grand grandson NaCiest Alton.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His wife Helen Boyd, sister, Verdelle Davis, children Harriet Berry (Tommie), Carolyn Boyd Christmas, Clyde M. Boyd, Jr. (Susan), Herbert L. Boyd (Jean) and Earnest F. Boyd (Joyce). Step children Queenie Nelson Erkins, Jacqueline T (Ronald Butler) and Rufus M. Nelson (Dannette).One adopted son and daughter, Elders Anthony and Belinda Rhanes, sixteen great grands, six step grands,twenty great grands, two great-great grands, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his church families.
Viewing/Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Dochester Funeral Home, Midway, Georgia.
The Home Going Service will be Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Final viewing from Noon to 1:00 p.m. at the church.
