Christopher Brown, 80, of Riceboro, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospitalsurrounded by his loving family. Christopher was born on August 25, 1940, to the late Clinton and Lottie Alvin-Brown in Riceboro, Ga. He was educated in the Liberty County School System and worked over 50 years as a heavy equipment operator with Brackin Timber Companyuntil his retirement. On December 19, 1961 Christopher married the love of his life, Mamie G. (Jackson) Brown, and to this union four children were born. Christopherjoined the church at an early age and was a faithful member of First African Baptist Church in Riceboro, Gaand served as a watchman until his health failed. His hobbies included automotive repair, gardening and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Christopher was preceded in death by both parents, Clinton and Lottie Brown, his sister, Carolyn Brown-Stevens, five brothers, James, Benjamin, Lawrence, David and John-WillieBrown, his loving and devoted wife of 54 years Mamie G. Brown and his son Jerome Brown, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his brother, Ulysses (Margaret) Brown, of Riceboro, Ga, three loving children, Ralph(Carla) Brown, Kelvin Brown and Lillian Penn all of Riceboro, Ga., seven grandchildren, ShaRonda Brown, Jerome Brown, Jr, Christopher L. Brown, Sr., Britany Brown, Antionette Penn, Ralph Brown, Jr. and Ashley Brown; 12 great-grandchildren; a step-sister, Elise Gay;four sisters in-law, Everlena Brown and Hester Brown, Arlene Gibbs-Brown and Olivia Brown; one brother in-law, Marion Stevens; longtime friends, Albert Spencer and Herman Stevens, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

There will be a visitation on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 1 p.m.- 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021at 11 a.m. at Dorchester Funeral Home, 7842 E. Oglethorpe Highway Midway, Ga 31320. Interment will be in First African Baptist Church Cemetery, Riceboro, Ga.
