Cedric Leon Golson, Sr., age 57 of Ludowici, Georgia, departed this life Sunday, September 4, 2022. He was born on July 4, 1965, in Pahokee, FL, to his parents, Maceo Golson, Jr. and Weda C. Golson. Cedric attended Pahokee Middle-Senior High School and graduated in 1983. Upon his graduation, he joined the United States Army in August 1983, serving terms in Somalia, Bosnia, Korea, and Desert Storm. He married the love of his life, Linda Handy on September 16, 1987 and they were married for 35 wonderful years. He had five children; Takela, Darius, Cedric Jr., Michelle, and Brian. Cedric was a loving husband and father. Cedric retired from the military on May 31, 2004 after serving 20 years in the service. He later continued his passion for transportation, becoming an Independent Contractor with Fed-Ex Ground, leading him to become a driver/trainer in Mack Trucks for Coastal Transportation. As an active and faithful member of The Love of Jesus Christ Ministry since 2011, Cedric served as a Media Engineer, growing with the church and extending his family. Cedric enjoyed bowling, music— playing various instruments; trumpet, tuba, piano, and guitar, to name a few. Most of all, Cedric’s biggest passion, he loved to fish. He made friends everywhere he went, embracing everyone he met with love. He will be sorely missed. His light will shine and live on through the various lives he touched, and will continue shining through his family: his wife of 35 years, Linda (Handy) Golson; five children: Takela Golson, Darius Golson (Mariah), Cedric L. Golson, Jr., Michelle Golson-Joyner (Jeremy), and Brian Golson (Tacia); parents, Maceo Golson (Betty) and Weda C. Golson; three sisters: Selethia Pendergrass (Gary, Sr.), Yolanda Golson, Sequoia Crawford (Jason); 7 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts.
