Our Condolences to the family of Mrs. Carrie G. Harris.
Mrs. Carrie Harris Grant was born October 6, 1930, in Liberty County Georgia to the union of the late Lewis and Gussie Harris of Riceboro, GA. She was united in marriage to Mr. Vernon Grant of Macclenny, FL who preceded her in death.
Being a native of Riceboro, GA, Mrs. Carrie received her education in the Liberty County School System. She furthered her education to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. For many years she resided in Jacksonville and Miami, FL prior to returning home to Riceboro, GA. Upon her return home she was employed by and retired from Liberty Manor Nursing Facility in Midway, GA.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devout member of New Anderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Riceboro, GA under the Leadership of Reverend Edgar Timmons. Her faithfulness, compassion and servant heart led to her being appointed as a Mother of The Church.
She was also preceded in death by her two sons Eugene and Jessie Grant of Jacksonville, FL
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving daughter Ms. Beatrice Grant of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Margaret Franklin of Miami, FL, Rita Johnson (James) of Deerfield Beach, FL; one sister-in-law Ruby Harris ofJacksonville, FL; two granddaughters, Chaka (Lawrence) Walthour of Midway, GA and Kenya Wright of Norcross, GA; Six great-grandchildren, Ka’Jeem Grant-Logan ofJacksonville, FL, Je’Siah Grant of Riceboro, GA, Ty’Asia Grant-Timmons of Brunswick, GA, Knijul Wright, Alycia Wright both of Norcross, GA and Chance Walthour of Midway, GA. She also has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that all loved her dearly.
