Bernice Crawford Hall was born on November  7, 1944 to the late Wright and Annie Moody Crawford in Marion County, South Carolina. Bernice was called to her eternal home on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Memorial her, Bernice graduated from Terrell’s Bay High School in Centenary, South Carolina. After graduating from school, she worked at Marion Memorial Hospital in Marion, South Carolina.  Later, she met and married Richard A. Hall and she traveled as a military wife. They were last stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia where they made this their home.  Bernice worked long hours for a local dry cleaner where she mastered her skill-set for pressing a crease into any shirt or pair of pants. After leaving the dry cleaner's she worked on the surgical ward of Winn Army Community Hospital on Fort Stewart’s Army Base until she retired. 

Anyone who knew Bernice knew she was a strong woman, and she maintained her strength to the best of her ability until the Lord told her it was time to pass the torch and come home to rest.  Bernice was one of eight children. She was known by her siblings as the “tattletale.”  She often shared childhood stories of growing up in the country with her brothers and sisters. Though they did not have much, they had love, joy, and countless happy memories of growing up together, wrestling bulls and sneaking out of the house at night to go to dances, while their parents were asleep!

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents: Wright and Annie Crawford; her husband: Richard Allen Hall; her sisters: Earsel Crawford and Annie Ruth Graham; brothers: Isaiah Crawford  and James Crawford; mother-n-law: Maggie Hall Davis; aunt: Professor Evelyn Hall, brothers-n-law: Charles Hall and James “Papa” Hall.

Bernice leaves to cherish her legacy and loving memories ~ a daughter: Tori J. Hall of Orlando, FL; a son: Stori Jason Hall of Atlanta, GA; her cherished and devoted grandson: Kendrick Hall of Hinesville, GA; her sisters: Mary {Ben} Lewis of Finklea, SC,  Helen Hunter of  Florence, SC;  brother: Willie {Georgia} Crawford of Washington, DC; a beloved cousin: Betty Bethea of Florence, SC; an incredibly special niece: Sandra Hemmingway of Florence, SC; a very special nephew: Ken {Gina} Crawford currently residing in the Mashall Islands; sister-n-law: Jackquilin B. Hall; a special friend: Glendora Pee of Marion, SC; her nephews and nieces: Benji Lewis,  Mitchell Lewis, Eric {Melanie} Hunter, Jessica Finklea, Dereace Sanders, Kathy Hall, Gwendolyn Hall, Pamela Alston along with a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Though Bernice may be gone in body, her fun-loving spirit and memorable life lessons will forever live in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew and loved her.
