Sis. Annie Ruth Hankins was born November 18, 1925 to the late Ulysses Brockington Sr. and Viola Hankins Brockington. She passed on May 27, 2021 at 9:45 p.m.
She was educated in Darlington County School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was very active until her health failed. She was a member of the Usher Board and Choir. She was preceded in death by her brother Isiah Brockington and Cleo Lee.
Annie Ruth left to cherish her memories, her son, Ulysses (Mildred) Brockington, two grandsons, Garry A. and Deterral L. Brockington; four nephews: Isaiah Brockington, Stalkey Brockington, Alfred Brockington , Ike James; four nieces: Elosies Lunn, Annie Mae Askins, Annie Bell (James) Hart, Lou Rea Briggs; eleven great grands: Jasmaine Brockington, Micheal Proctor, Angel Rush, Faizah, Juwairiyah, Zakariya, Sumaya, Saffiyah, Ibrahim and Humza Abdul-Rasheed and four great-great grands: Mari, Shea-Shea, Nylah & Monte Proctor and a host of grand nephews, nieces relatives and friends. Also a special minister and friend, Minister Sonora Munford.
Mrs. Hankins will be having a visitation at People’s Funeral Home 1014 Harmony Street Florence, South Carolina 29501 (843) 662-5901 from 6-7pm on June 1, 2021.
Funeral Services will be held June 2, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Florence, SC. at 3:00 pm.
