“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life”
- John 3:16
Mr. Alexander Antonio Andropolis Baker aka Gator (Sweets) was born on May 4,1965 to the late proud parents Earnest Baker, Sr. and Pauline “Polly” Baker in Walthourville, GA.
Mr. Baker attended public school in Long County where he participated in multiple sports and band. After school, he was employed by North American driving Semi Trucks. Following his employment after North American he furthered his career at SNF Chemtall where he held the title Team Leader for the wastewater treatment division from 1994-2014. During this time he was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church in Meridian, GA. In the wake of his retirement Alex decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a professional litigious. JK LOL If you truly knew Alex you knew he always had a pending lawsuit or an idea to make some money. He could sell water to a whale in the middle of the ocean.
Alex was a loving father, grandfather, loyal brother, caring friend and a smooth player from the Himalayas where he gained the name “Adropolis Sweets.” He lit up every room he walked in. He would give you his last even if he didn’t have it to give. Alex enjoyed life to the fullest Because tomorrow is never promised. Alex loved to travel, spend time with his family, and ride his motorcycle.
His family left to mourn and cherish countless memories are: his three sons: Courtney Tippens, Alexander Hinckley, and Daqhan Baker; three stepsons: Corithian Reed, Dock Davis, Jr., and Samuel Spaulding; two step daughters: Coretta Timmons, and Jarica Bradley Gadson; four brothers: Ben, Vincent, Larry, and Don Baker; four sisters: Cynthia Ponquinette, Winifred Hill, Saundra and Diane Baker; two granddaughters: Amelia Hinckley and Sage Baker and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren. Alex was preceded in death by his parents Earnest Baker, Sr. and Pauline Baker; his two sisters Maryland Joyce and Caroline Jones and his three brothers Earnest Jr., Mathew, and Anthony Baker.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
