Wilbert Lee Bates, Sr was born on September16, 1941, in Verbena, AL. He was the son late Sanford Bates, Sr.and late Bertha Mae Sutton. He departed this life onJanuary 16, 2022,at the age of 80 years old, to be with Lord.

He was preceded to death by hiswife Pearline Batesson Kevyn Bates, Brothers Willie Lee Sutton, RooseveltRoberts Jr,wife (Annie)and sister Rosa Mae Bates Brown.

He leaves to cherish his memories; a very loving, caring devoted sonWilbert Bates,Jr.wife(Muriel) of Ludowici, GA ; sonAndrew Bates, Sr. wife (Diane)of Montgomery, AL; daughterEvette Bates of Miami, FL ; son and daughter Wilber Tina,andRicky MartinbrotherSanford Bates Jr.Greg Bateswife(Felicia) and sisters Bessie Mae Taylor, Mary BatesTysonandDeidrettaBatesalong with 3 other sibling all from the Montgomery, AL Areaand a host ofnephews, nieces, cousins, grandchildren, Great-grandchildren,Ex wife Gloria Bates mother of his childrenand friends

Mr. Wilbert Lee Bates Sr. faithfully served Christ through ministry and deaconship most of his adult life. He also proudly served our country both domestically and abroad in the United States Army.Mr. Wilbert Lee Bates Sr.was loved by many and left an impact on our lives that we will forever cherish.
