We are so sad to announce the passing of my Mother Veronica Bentley (maiden name Jones) of Killeen, Texas. She died unexpectedly after experiencing a stroke on April 18, 2023. She was&77years old.

Veronica Bentley was born to Lewis Jones and Sarah Williams, on 21 May 1945.She was the youngest of 12 children.She went to school in Midway,GA and after graduating HS, she took some classesatAlbanyState,then ultimately moved to Philadelphia, PA where she met and married Floyd Bentley. She worked in a clothing factory for a few years, but after completing her certification, she later worked at a nursing home as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She retired in 2010.

Veronica Bentley is survived by her son Derek Bentley, her GrandsonsEverett R.Hurtt,Derrick R.Hurtt, her GranddaughtersTranelleR. Jonesand AshleyV. Bentley, and her Great GrandchildrenAndre J. Abrams, Jason K. Abrams and Laila M. Abrams, and her sister Sarah Hill.

Veronica was a proud Mother and Grandmother, who supported her family. Her two passions in life were fishing and bingo. The smiles on her face in either setting were priceless. She was also a spiritual person who attended church, until the pandemic, but read her Bible daily. Psalms 23 was one of her favorites. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all that had the pleasure to get to know her over the years.
