Vennis Sylvester
Henderson
July 27, 1955 – January 26, 2021
Our condolences to Mr. Vennis S. Henderson family.
&(My baby) Vennis Sylvester Henderson was born July 27, 1955 in Orlando Florida to Harold Sylvester and Fannie Morgan Henderson. He was the oldest of nine siblings.
Vennis received his formal education in Saint Lucie County Public school system and graduated from Fort Pierce Central High School in the Class of 1973. After graduating high school, Vennis attended Tennessee State University. He was a member of TSU's Marching Band and proud member of Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity, Incorporated, Zeta Pi Chapter.
After graduating from Tennessee State University, Vennis enlisted in the United States Army in the winter of 1977. Vennis served as Army Personnel Sergeant and served overseas, including in Germany. Vennis proudly supported an Airborne unit, that greatly value his insight and care for this unit. After serving honorably for 20 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class, Vennis retired from the Army in 1997 with numerous Army service awards and meritorious medals.
After retirement, Vennis made Hinesville, Ga. his forever home. Eager to continue to be servant leader, He worked effortlessly helping young adults prepare and secure suitable employment.
Vennis loved his family and friends. He was affectionately known as Bo Dilly or Hendu by those that love him. No one was a stranger to Vennis. You could always guarantee to get a good laugh, when you engaged in conversations with Vennis. He loved to see others smile and always made everyone he came in contact with comfortable.
