Tommie Joe Kelly, Sr. was born on April 4, 1949, to his late parents, David, Sr. and Katie Lee Kelly of Walthourville, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David, Sr. and Katie Lee Kelly; his son, Tommie Joe Kelly, Jr.; his brothers, David, Jr., Leon, James, Esaw, and Jerry Kelly; one sister, Mary Kelly Kent; and his mother-in-law, the Honorable Carrie Kent Brown.
Tommie Joe Kelly, Sr. attended Liberty County High School. In June 1967, he married Francine Kent, and to their union four children were born.
He worked at Fort Stewart as a cook for 10 years. He owned a lawn care service business, and he was a jack of all trades. Everyone could depend on him to get the job done. He enjoyed helping people, collecting junk, and giving advice (sometimes unwanted).
Tommie Joe leaves to mourn his loving wife of 57 years, Francine Kelly; and three (3) children: George (Alice Hines) Kent of Walthourville, GA; Herbert (Jennifer) Kelly of Midway, GA; and Shannon (Daniel, Jr.) Fleming of Midway, GA.
He also leaves behind his brothers: David (Patricia) Kelly of Hephzibah, GA; Emmett (Cynthia) Kelly of Lithonia Springs, GA; Joseph (Louise) Kelly of Ludowici, GA; and Dean Kelly of Ludowici, GA.
His sisters include Mae Frances (Grady) Anderson of Walthourville, GA; Cynthia (Ronnie) Turner of Riverdale, GA; and Josephine Epps of Disputanta, VA.
His sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law include Marie Kelly of Augusta, GA; Yvonne Kelly of Riceboro, GA; Vicky Kent of Ludowici, GA; Irma Jean (Willie) Thomas of Augusta, GA; Carrie Anderson of Walthourville, GA; Marsha (Larry) Jones of Syracuse, NY; Henry Kent of Augusta, GA; and Sadetirs Smith of Brunswick, GA.
He also leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
