Thomas W. Griggs was born to the late Julious and Martha Griggs on March 10, 1947. He attended and
graduated from Wheeler County Training School in 1966. After graduation, he enlisted and served in the
United States Army for two years. He attended Savannah State University and for over 30yrs, he was a
tire and wheel specialist at Sears in Savannah, GA. At a young age he joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist
Church and after relocating back to Lumber City, GA he renewed his affiliation with the church.
