Obituary

Stephen Wayne Walthour was born on February 09, 1967, to the parents of Freddie Sr. and Nazerene
Marie Walthour in Liberty County GA. He was the 8 th child born to this union. Steve worked at Hobart
Industries in Richmond Hill, GA for several years and then started with DSSmith (formerly known as
Interstate Paper) in Riceboro, GA where he worked until his passing.
Steve, as he was often called, was a machinist by trade. In his heart he was a builder, a carpenter, a
person that could take your dream project and make it a reality. It was his dream to own his own rental
properties and build a legacy for his children and grandchildren. You can see the fruits of his labor when
you drive down 84 East in Liberty County headed toward Midway. Steve could build anything, and he had
his own style, he could see beauty in things that others could not. He was an excellent craftsman. He is
well known throughout this county and surrounding counties for his integrity and his commitment to
doing what he was passionate about to the highest standards. He believed in treating others as he would
want to be treated. He prided himself in giving and receiving respect. He was a devoted husband, caring
father, proud grandfather, a loving brother and trusted friend who will forever be in our hearts.
Steve was proceeded in death by his father and mother Freddie Sr and Nazerene Walthour, his brother
Phillip Walthour, his sister Nancy Hines, his brother Mark Walthour, his grandson Zyir Washington, his
daughter in law Dinta Walthour and niece Nazerene Hines
Stephen Wayne Walthour departed his earthly home on Thursday May 15, 2025. Steve leaves to cherish
