Obituary

Our Condolences to the family of &Sherman R. Scott.

On the morning of March 6, 2021, Sherman R. Scott took his wings and ascended into the heavens. His devotion to God and his family showed his true spirit, which was an inspiration to others.

Sherman R. Scott was born on May 24, 1984, in Hinesville, GA to Phoebe Brenda Smiley and Sherman Harris and spent his youth growing up in Long County. As students at Bradwell Institute, Sherman and Tina met and became high school sweethearts. In 2005 Sherman and Christina, a dedicated couple living together by then, gave birth to their beautiful daughterShamyaScott. In 2006 Sherman completed his GED. Shortly afterwards, Sherman and Christina gave birth to their handsome son Damarcus Scott. On September 18, 2011, Sherman and Christina were married and honeymooned in Tybee Island. To his family, Sherman was a loving and supportive husband and father who always kept laughter in the home.

As a business man, Sherman's kind natured approach to life served him well. While having made several career moves, Sherman typically excelled in each venture, winning multiple achievement awards as he went, especially so as a salesman. He dedicated over a decade of his life working as a car salesman locally in Hinesville GA. In 2012, Sherman decided that he wanted more for his family so he contracted to work overseas in Afghanistan working as a MRAP repairman and heavy equipment operator. Although the pay was great, he missed his family more, so in 2013, Sherman returned home and went back to work locally selling cars once again.

While he was a first class car salesman, Sherman's true dream in life was to become a Real Estate Agent. In 2015 Sherman graduated from theHoltzman Real Estate School. In 2018, Sherman received his real estate license and went to work part time as real estate agent while still working full time as a car salesman. In Spring of 2020 Sherman fully realized his dream by becoming a full-time agent. Sherman was starting to make great strides as a successful real estate agent, having recently received the Weichert Realtors' Real Estate Professionals 2020 SalesAchievementawardjustoneweekbeforeGodcalledhimhome.

To all who knew Sherman, he was a bright light, a kind soul in this often times-trying world. Sherman would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, as he often did. Family and friends take comfort in knowing that his heavenly presence will be felt by all who love and knew him. Sherman is survived by his devoted and loving wife; Christina Scott; his two children,ShamyaScott and Damarcus Scott; his mother Phoebe Brenda Smiley and father Sherman Harris; his sisterShaharraHarris; mother andfather-in-lawsKathleen and Raymond Egan; two brothers in laws Eric and Brian Egan, sister-in-law Mandy Egan; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, to include close friends and his Full Gospelchurch family.
