Our Condolences to the family of Mr. Sandy Williams.&
MSG (Ret.) Sandy M. Williams, 69, passed away on March 18, 2021, in Hinesville, GA.
Sandy was born on October 28, 1951, in Lincolnville, SC to loving parents, Christopher and Anna Williams. After graduating from Bonds Wilson High School in Charleston, SC, he attended Trident Technical College in North Charleston, SC where he earned an Associate's Degree in Welding Technology. He later joined the U.S Army where he faithfully served for 24 years until his retirement in 1994 after achieving the rank of Master Sergeant.
Following retirement from the U.S. Army, he passionately served the cadets at Youth ChalleNGe Academy Fort Stewart as the Lieutenant of Bravo 2 Company for 18 years. He retired in 2012 to enjoy his favorite hobbies of fishing, hunting, and junking.
He leaves behind a loving wife of 23 years, Viola Denise Williams; one son, Gerard (Theresa) Williams of Atlanta, GA; four daughters, Sabrina Williams of Columbia, SC; Jolonda T. Greene of Sunbury, GA; Krystal (Andra) Hart of Hinesville, GA; and Yolonda Britton of Sunbury, GA; two grandsons, Nicholas Butler of Atlanta, GA and Victor Wood of Columbia, SC; and three granddaughters, Taylor Williams of Atlanta, GA and Aydra Hart and Sage Hart of Hinesville, GA.
He also leaves to cherish memories of his love, two brothers, Edmond (Dorothy) Grant of Washington, D.C.; James (Boydna) Williams of Clinton, MD; four sisters, Rosalee Washington; Alice (Ulysses) Smith; Christine (James) Hampton; and Rev. Anna Gleaton, all of Lincolnville, SC; two brothers-in-law, Leroy Bobby (Kim) Prince of Westland, MI and Jimmy Greene, Sr. of Key West, FL; two sisters-in-law, Martha (Bobby) Alvin of Sunbury, GA and Alice (Pascal) Quarterman of Midway, GA; and a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Harriett Greene of Sunbury, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Anna Williams of Lincolnville, SC; brother, Clayton Williams of Lincolnville, SC; brothers-in-law, Arnic Washington of Lincolnville, SC and Albert Greene, Jr. of Midway, GA; and sister-in-law, Lurline Williams of Lincolnville, SC.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 27 at 5-7 p.m. The celebration of life will be on Sunday, March 28 at 1 p.m. Both services will be located at 7842 E. Oglethorpe Highway, Midway, GA 31320. Dorchester Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
