Obituary

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4

Sally was born June 13, 1946 to the late Spencer Baker, Sr. and Ezzie Mae Martin. Sally worked faithfully with the Liberty County Board of Education as a cafeteria worker until she retired. She completed her education when she joined the Job Corps. Sally was a loving and kind person. She loved to fish and cook. Sally departed this world on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hulon Smiley, her mother and her father. Sally leaves to mourn two stepsons: Bennie (Peggy) Smiley and Hubert Smiley, one niece: Shanell Lakes; one nephew: Spencer Baker and a host of cousins and friends.

Although you are sleep in heaven now, you’re not that far away Our hearts are full with memories and you’re with us everyday You lived your life with meaning and with a smile upon your face A world that was full of happiness is now an empty place People say that only time will heal a broken heart But just like you and me it has been torn apart I know that you are at peace now and in a place that you are free Meet us at the Pearly Gates when heaven calls our name. Love, The Family
