Obituary

Richard D. Morrison,&was born in Laurinburg, NC on March 8, 1957 to the late Ms.Henrietta Pearson.


He received his early education in the Scotland County school system, graduating from Scotland High School in Laurinburg, NC and then attended Sand Hill Community College.


Richard joined the Army where his first duty station was Fort Benning, GA. After serving his country for 20 years, he retired in Fort Stewart, GA.


A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Richard passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022.


Richard was affiliated with Minuteman Chapel, Fort Stewart, GA and Bethel AME Church,Hinesville, GA.


During his military career, Richard was accepted as a Master Mason. He remained an active brother in the Masonic family until his passing. Hourglass Lodge #113 (Past Master), X.L. Neal #118 HRAM (Past Excellent High Priest), E.L. Johnson Council #3 Royal & Select Master Companion), Baxley Consistory #209 AASR (Sublime Prince), Omar Temple 21 AEAONMS (Past Illustrious Potentate).

Wilhelmina H.Parrish Grand Court Heroines of Jericho (Past Most Worthy Grand Joshua), John A. Robinson Sr Most Royal Grand Court of Cyrene Crusaders (Past Most Royal Grand Advisor), and Lillian E. Blake Most Royal Grand Court of the LOCOP (Honorary Past Royal Grand Chief Advisor).


He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his loving wife, Beverly Gray Morrison of Hinesville, GA; two daughters, Dionne Cox of Raleigh, NC and Kimberly Collier (James) of Irvine, CA; and one grandson, Christopher. Sister, Willa Cline of Charlotte, NC and brother GregoryMorrison of Richmond, CA. God-Sister Josephine Ellison of Gibson, NC and a host of loving family and friends.
