Rebecca "June" Carroll

June Carroll of Statesboro passed away at East Georgia Regional Medical Center following an injury and extended cancer treatment.

After becoming a parent, June put off returning to work to raise her family. She did return to various jobs and ultimately Ms. Carroll worked in the Bulloch County Farm Bureau office for many years. Shelater retired from the Rockdale County Farm Bureau office.

June was the oldest daughter of Tommy & Inez Sowell of Statesboro, GA.

She is survived by daughter Julie Davis (Dennis) of Hinesville, son Arthur Pitts (Julie) of Tallahassee, FL. Five grandchildren: James Davis (Amanda) ofJacksonville, FL; Rebecca Davis of Hinesville, GA; Andrew Pitts (Elizabeth) and Caleb Pitts (Laura) of Tallahassee, FL; and Ian Pitts (Emily) of Plainville, CT. Three great-grandchildren: Rhett, Reid and Claire Davis of Jacksonville, FL. Sister Karen McMichael of Sandersville, GA and a host of cousins, nieces & nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, sisters Fay, Dianne, brothers Danny and Tommie, Jr., husbands William "Bill" Carroll & Fred Pitts.

A Graveside Service will be heldSaturday, January 28th at 11AMin the Brooklet City cemetery.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
