Earl Gaskins Sr
June 30, 1941 – November 27, 2024
Ralph L.E. Gaskins Sr., 83, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
Born on June 30, 1941, in Oriental, North Carolina, Ralph was the son of Rev. John Green (Alice) and Eleanor "Gracie" Gaskins. He attended Pamlico Training School, later renamed Pamlico Central School, and after graduating, he proudly joined the United States Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War.
Following his honorable discharge, Ralph moved to Midway (Sunbury), Georgia, with Dallas and Ruth Smith. He worked as a dockworker for many years at Morgan Shrimp Dock on Colonels Island, Georgia and Bryan Fisherman Co-op in Richmond Hill, Georgia. After retiring, he continued his dedication to hard work as a maintenance man for Plantation Apartments in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
Ralph was a man of great integrity and unwavering devotion to his loved ones. He had a generous heart, supporting numerous charities to aid those in need. He re-dedicated his life to the Lord and served faithfully in the body of Christ, continuing his ministry with a servant's heart until his final days.
Ralph was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ambrose "Amos" and Ada J. Gaskins; his mother, Gracie E. Gaskins; his father, John Green, and stepmother, Alice Green; and his dearly loved brothers, Isaac Gaskins, Jewel Gaskins, and Eugene Gaskins Sr.
He is survived by his children: Bambie (Colonel (Retired) Eddie) White of Virginia Beach, VA, Elisha Gaskins of Valdosta, GA and Ralph L.E. Gaskins Jr. of Midway, GA; He was a proud grandfather to Jermaine, Jeremy, Justin, Janecia, Jaelin (DeAndre), and Jaleah. Ralph
also leaves behind six great-grandchildren all near and dear to him: Jermyah, Justice, Brandon, Mila, So'Leiah, and Dezmund.
He is fondly remembered by his special friend Gabrielle Brown, his special nephew Eugene Gaskins Jr and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves a host of friends and neighbors whom he cherished.
Ralph's legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
