Obituary

Today we honor the beautiful life of Paulette Lemon Williams-Walthour. She was the daughter of the late Mr. John "July" Lemon Jr., and Mrs. Yvonette Williams-Lemon. Paulette was born on October 11, 1959 in Savannah, GA.

Paulette was educated through the Chatham County Public School, attending Tompkins Middle School, and Groves High School. She graduated from Groves in 1977. Paulette attended some college at Savannah State College. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church, and had been since about 1986.

As a teenager, Paulette had a love for softball, and she played for years with SeaBreeze and later with Don's Handy Pantry. As a young adult, Paulette worked at Union Camp (now known as International Paper) for a brief period. She later worked at Massie School, which is currently known as Massie Heritage Center under the guidance of Ms. Debbie Parsons. Paulette later worked as a paraprofessional at a few different schools within the Chatham County Public School System, such as 38th st. School, Thunderbolt, and Juliette Low. The chapter of Paulette's life that became the work she would do until retirement, was her time with the Walmart corporation. She spent over 30 years with that company; she went from a sales associate, to a CSM, to an assistant manager, and later she joined the traveling remodeling team. She LOVED that because she really loved seeing different places, and embarking on new adventures. During her entire working career, she fostered MANY beautiful relationships with so many incredible people.

Ms. Paulette, as so many endearingly called her, displayed a spirit of acceptance, kindness, generosity, and just overall love. She never met a stranger and, in fact, if you seemed like someone who just needed a little bit more love in your life, she "adopted" you as one of her own. She had the type of presence that you just couldn't ignore. She'd set you straight if you needed it, she would make you laugh, effortlessly, and if you ever needed a shoulder to cry on, she was right there. She absolutely loved fishing, she was a great cook, and she enjoyed karaoke with her family. She just enjoyed a very well-rounded life!

On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Mrs. Paulette Williams-Walthour entered into eternal peace and rest, surrounded by her family.
