Mr. Nathaniel Brown, age 83, of Savannah, Georgia, entered eternal rest on Saturday,
April 18, 2026.
Mr. Brown was born on March 19, 1943, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Irvin Brown,
Sr. and Ethel Lee Brown. He was educated in the Savannah-Chatham County Public
School System.
He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968, including assignments in the
Panama Canal Zone and at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He later continued his service in
the United States Air Force Reserves, retiring in 2003 with the rank of Technical
Sergeant after over 28 years of service.
Following his military service, Mr. Brown dedicated many years as a civil servant,
working at Fort Campbell and Fort Stewart, where he retired as a Supervisor of
Housekeeping.
Mr. Brown was known for his easygoing spirit, warm smile, and love for cooking. He
enjoyed bringing people together and will be remembered for his laughter and the care
he showed to family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin Brown, Sr. and Ethel Lee Brown; his
son, Nathaniel Orlando Williams; his brother, Irvin Brown, Jr.; and his sister, Florence
Brown Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters: Matrice Jackson (Quentin) of Johns
Creek, Georgia; Nathalie McElroy of Garland, Texas; and Phyllis Macade (Robert)
Nichols of Suwanee, Georgia. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Cheryl
Williams and son-in-love, Willie McElroy.
He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Nathaniel Williams, Caden Jackson,
Carver Jackson, Reece Nichols, Nahla Nichols, Malone McElroy, Kendi Nichols, and
Maxwell McElroy; four great-grandchildren; and a host of sisters- and brother-in-love,
nieces, nephews, and extended family.
