A Time To Be Born

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; Ecclesiastes 3:2

Mother Rachel James was born January 9, 1936, to the late Robert and Lela Johnson in Selma, Alabama. She was employed at Liberty Memorial Hospital (now Liberty Regional Medical Center) as a Dietician in Hinesville, GA. She was a faithful member of St. James Community Church. She was a member of The Coral Ensemble Choir, President of the Pastor Aide, and participated with the after-school program at St. James Sports Center.

A Time To Die

On Monday, February 17, 2025, at 7:30 am, Mother Rachel James peacefully passed away. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Isaiah James, one son, Victor James, and her brother, Robert Johnson Jr.

A Time To Love

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:8

Mother Rachel James was joined in Holy Matrimony to Deacon Isaiah James until his death.

A Time to Mourn

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.  Ecclesiates 3:4

Mother Rachel James leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Josephine Johnson of Midway, GA, Sharron James Cook (Samuel) of Midland, GA, Shelia James of Dallas, GA, and Brandie James of Midway, GA; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren,  eight great-great grandchildren; a dear friend, Nell Poston; two godsons Pastor Marvin Kelly(Barbara) and Deacon Tony Johnson(Paulette), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
