Mother Elizabeth
Brown Jackson
February 28, 1929 – July 12, 2025
.The life of Mother Elizabeth Jackson began on February 29, 1929 in
Midway, Georgia. She was the first of sixteen children of Bishop Sam
and Mother Mary Brown. As a child Mother Jackson accepted Jesus as
her savior. Mother Jackson grew up in a christian and loving home,
where she learned to sew and play the piano. She was educated in the
Liberty County Public Schools, and graduated in 1947. Upon graduating
she attended Savannah State University.
While attending New Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Freemond Grove, Elizabeth meet Willie Jackson. On December 14, 1952 Elizabeth married Willie "Man" Jackson in Midway, Georgia. Seven children were born from their union. Mother Jackson and Wille Jackson moved to Brooklyn, New York. Their home was filled with music and love. Mother Jackson often played the piano, and some guitar, while Wille and the family sung along. Wille and Elizabeth enjoyed 43 beautiful years until Wille Jackson passed away in 1995.
Mother Jackson pursed a career as a nursing assistant at the Brooklyn
Jewish Hospital. In addition Mother Jackson enjoyed designing and
making clothing. She was a talented seamstress, often making clothes
she saw without a pattern. Her passion was for art, and drawing.
She was know for drawing beautiful animals.
Mother Elizabeth Jackson peacefully passed away July 12, 2025. She was proceeded in death by her husband Willie "Man" Jackson, son Willie Jackson Jr. and daughter Deborah Ann Jackson, father Bishop Sam Brown, mother Mary Brown, and seven siblings, Ella Mae, Joseph, Sarah, Mary, James, Sam, and Lewis. Left to celebrate her legacy five children, Kathryn "Lena" Levy Jackson, George Jackson, Angela Jackson, Delores Jackson, and Alvaughn Jackson. One daughter-in-law Eva Jackson. One sister Joyce Moody Guyton, three brothers Ulysee Brown, Phillip Brown, and Samuel Brown. 15 grandchildren Damon, Gabriel, Jonathan, Erica, Elizabeth, Elijah, Denya, Melissa, Jackie, Nichole, Nicholas, David, Daniel, Matthew, and Isaiah. 25 great-grandchildren. And a host of family and friends
