Mildred Lee Jenkins (Cummings) was born on March 10, 1939, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Carol and Lonia Mae Cummings. She was preceded in death by her brothers Ronnie, Samuel, and James and her sisters Gurney, Pearl, and Alice.
She has 2 surviving siblings: Norris Johnson and Catherine (Cleve) Hollis.
Mildred was joined in holy matrimony to the late Thomas H. Jenkins, and from this union came 5 children: Calvin H. Jenkins, Eva (Tim) Faison, Mary J. King, George (Adrain) Jenkins, and Mammie L. Woodbury.
Mildred was instrumental in the raising of her children on a farm in rural Georgia and taught them the value of work, honesty, and persistence. She introduced her children to the Lord at early ages and worshipped at Evergreen Baptist Church (when it was in woods!). Years later, she joined St. James Freewill Baptist Church located in Alma, Georgia, under the leadership of Reverend Leon Lee.
She leaves to mourn eight grandchildren: LaTimothy D. King, ShaRonica J. Jenkins, Christopher J. Colson, Brittany N. Colson, Treyvon J. King, Khyree D. Jenkins, NaTara R. Natrice Wooten, Edarius J. Clements, and Khyrah Y. Woodbury. And, six great-grands: Tenalia, Marla, Bella, Kairo, Amina, and Safari.
She also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
