Michael Lee Barrett, 53, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville, Florida with his family by his side. Michael was born on July 13, 1968 to the late Essie Mae Roberts-Barrett and Charles E. Howard at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.

At an early age, Michael was baptized at First African Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Rev. Garfield Jackson. Michael was educated in the Liberty County School System. He graduated from Bradwell Institute in 1987. He furthered his education at Savannah Technical College in Hinesville, GA. Michael was known for his loving smile, his kindness, and his willingness to help others. Michael was especially supported by a dedicated and caring aunt, Annie Ash.

Michael is survived by his loving father Charles (Geraldine) Howard of Miami, FL; a devoted and loving brother Elder Richard (Emma) Barrett, Jr. of Riceboro, GA; a special nephew Daniel Barrett, of Pooler, GA a special niece Kenya Barrett, of Perry, GA; aunts Ellen (Jack) Paul of Miami, FL; Annie Ash, and Sadie Robert's both of Riceboro, GA; uncles Albert Roberts, of Miami, FL; and Wallace Howard, of Riceboro, GA; two god-sisters, two god-brothers, a host of cousins and friends, and a close friend Keisha Deverger.
