Melody Michelle Coburn, age 43, of Jonesboro Ga, transitioned to her heavenly home on January 1st, 2024.

Melody was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 12th, 1980 to Evondale and Juanita Coburn nee Muñoz . As the daughter of a US Veteran, Melody around the world spending most of her formative years in Hinesville, Georgia. Melody attended high school in Hinesville and graduated from Bradwell Institute. Melody pursued a Bachelor of Science at Savannah State University where she majored in Business Administration and was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She would continue on to receive her Masters from the University of Phoenix in Human Resources Management. Melody worked as a higher education professional for over a decade, and was most recently employed by Georgia State University.

Melody was a beloved member of her community and an avid fitness enthusiast. In recent years, Melody became a fitness coach and a transformative bodybuilding competitor. She is, to many, affectionately known as Coach Marley Mel. Melody is predeceased by her aunts Cherry Grant and Althea Coburn, her uncle Anthony Muñoz and her beloved dog-son Nautica Zorro. She is survived by her loving parents Evondale Coburn and Juanita Coburn alongside several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of others who valued and loved her.

A viewing for Melody Coburn will be held on January 19th from 18:00 pm to 20:00 pm, at The Dorchester Funeral Home 7842 E. Oglethorpe HWY. Midway GA 31320. Memorial services will be held on January 20th, at 11:00 am at First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 124 Rebecca St. Hinesville GA, 31313.
