He was born on May 8,1986,in Beaufort SC.Mayor Harrisis a 2005graduateofSeminole HighSchool in Seminole, Fl.Heis a 2009 graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (F.A.M.U.) in Tallahassee, FLwith a B.A. in Businessand a 2016 graduate of Savannah State University in Savannah, Ga where he earnedhisM.B.A. in Business.
Heis an ordained Elder in the Southeastern Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) under the leadership of Presiding Bishop Benjamin P.Collins,Pastor of Bread Of Life(C.O.G.I.C.).
Mayor Joseph (Joe) Harriswaselected as the Mayor of Riceboro, GA andsworninto office Jan. 2020 where he dedicated himself whole heartly to serving his community.AndIn addition to being the Mayor, Mr. Harris was a teacher at Lyman Hall Elementary.
He is survived by his mother Priscilla Stewart Harris,His father Joseph N. Harris Jr., Devoted grandmother Elder Katie Gordon, Grandfather Earnest (Naomi) Brown, Siblings Corey (Alicia) Harris, Josett (Jamole) Nicholson, StephanieJenkins,and Crystal Harris
