Margaret A. Alvin was born on July 16, 1951, to the late William Jones, Sr. and Annie P. Johnson in Hinesville, GA. She departed this life for a better home on Sunday, September 22, 2024, surrounded by family who loved and cherished her.

Margaret attended Liberty County Public Schools and went on to work for Coastal Utilities, where she dedicated many years until her retirement in 1998. Outside of her professional life, she was known for her incredible talent as a seamstress. Whether it was creating beautiful wedding gowns, altering garments, or designing custom curtains, her work touched the lives of many.

Margaret will be remembered for her generosity, her dedication to family, and the love she put into everything she did.

Margaret was also blessed with a 32-year marriage to the love of her life, the late Johnny (Bundy) Alvin. Their relationship was a true partnership, built on love, trust, and a shared commitment to their family. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and support.

She leaves to cherish her memories — her children: Santell (Lennon) Mings of Amarillo, TX, Sean (Tawanna) Walthour of Midway, GA, and Samekeil (LaShondra) Walthour of Hinesville, GA; her step-children: Johnny Alvin, Jr. of Brunswick, GA, DeWayne Alvin of Brunswick, GA, Tameka (Elijah) Jones of Brunswick GA, and Manieka (Cedric) Palmer of Brunswick, GA; two brothers Timothy Jones of Monrovia, CA and Ricky Jones of Hinesville, GA;  12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. A special cousin, Michael Johnson; close friends, Catherine Spencer and Rena Anderson; and a bonus son and daughter, Keith and Cassundra Thornton.
