Lillie Ruth London transitioned into her heavenly home on March29, 2023.Shewas born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 21,1953,to the parentage of Lemuel Coley and Trotha Lee Mayo Brown and L. C. Brown.
Lillie attended public schools in Little Rock, North Little Rock,Jacksonvilleand received her high school diploma from Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, AR. Lilliewas astrong believer ineducation.Sheobtained anAssociates of Arts DegreefromShorter Junior Collegeandlater earned aBachelor of ScienceDegree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo College.Lillie began herfederalgovernment career at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey as a Procurement Clerk.Being thelovingmilitary wifethat she was, shegladlytraveled extensivelywith her husbandto support him in hismilitary career.Upon his assignment to Fort Stewart, Lilliewas able to continueher federal governmentcareeratthe US Corps of Engineersof Savannah, Georgiauntil her retirementin 2001.
Lillie acceptedChristatan earlyageunderthe leadership of her thenPastor,William Johnson.She married thelove of her life, Cleotis London on August 6, 1971.Lillie was afaithfulmemberof MountZion Missionary BaptistChurch, Hinesville, Georgiawhere she servedinthedeaconessministry.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Velvatina N. Cunningham; brothers, Wyatt C. Brown, James E. Brown; sisters, Warren J. Jackson, Lular Brown, and Regina Jenkins.
She leaves to cherish her memory, herlovinghusbandof 52 years, Cleotis London,three sons, Ennis C. London, Richard D. London, and Patrick N. London; two brothers, Don Brown of Little Rock, Arkansas, Lee C. Brown of Dorchester, MA; three sisters, Kitty Hall of Toledo, OH, Martha Thorton of Hinesville, GA, and Mary Williams of Memphis, TN; seventeen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lillie willbe dearly missed and fondlyrememberedforheraffectionate smile, generous and lovingspiritandforher loveforfamilyandmost especially,her"honey bun".
