Obituary


Leroy Cephus Bacon: Leroy, affectionately known as LC, was born on February 26, 1946 to the late Amos Bacon, Sr. and Edith Albertha Smith Bacon in the McIntosh, Georgia community.
LC was educated by the Liberty County Public School system. He graduated from Liberty County High School from class of 1965. During high school he attended shop class where he learned vocational skills, including wood working.
Upon graduation he moved to Brooklyn, NY. He met and married his wife Clara Bacon (estranged). &They had two children, Leroy Bacon, Jr. and Darren Bacon.
While in NY, LC used his vocational skills to build a career in cabinet making and other handyman skills. He also applied his vocational skills to design and build a wooden car.
After living in NY for a while, he moved back home to the McIntosh Community in the 1970s to live near his family. He worked on the Fort Stewart Army base to do maintenance work. In recent years his health started to decline. He succumbed to his illness after a good fight.
LC was preceded in death by siblings: Mrs. Willie Mae Johnson, Mrs. Alverta Richardson, Mrs. Lula Belle Powell, Alma Walthour, Mrs Emma Golden, Samuel Bacon, Sr. and his favorite cousin David Roberts. He is survived by his children, Leroy Bacon, Jr. and Darren Bacon. He is also survived by his siblings Amos Bacon, Jr. (Bessie) of Hinesville, GA, Martha Jones of Atlanta, GA, Visia Mae Hunt of Midway, Georgia, Richard Bacon of Midway, Georgia, his favorite nephew Carl Jimmie Bacon of Midway, Georgia and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
