Leon "Bonzo"Clark was born toHenry Greenandthe late Viola ClarkonOctober 29, 1954. On Monday,November 21, 2022,he answered the Father's call fromhisearthly journeyto eternal rest.
At an early age,hebecame a member ofCalvary Baptist Church in Richmond Hill, GA. One of the most profoundbiblicalteachings he held deep in his heartwas "God commands us to love one another."
Leonattended the public schools inBryanCounty, and he often shared manydelightfulmemories about George Washington CarverSchool. Although Leon worked invariouscapacities, he was a highly skilledpacking,shipping,andhandling facilitator who learnedevery aspect ofthelogisticsdepartment.After working many years atCovanMoving Companyin Richmond Hill, GA,heenjoyed the life ofretirement to the fullest.
Hejoined in holy matrimonythe love of his life,the lateAlice Berry Clark. Together,God gave them the graceand wisdom toprovidespiritual enlightenment and genuine loveto four wonderful children.
He wasa kind and humblemanwho gave out of the abundance of his heart. Whenever thestorms of life arose, he would encourage otherswhilespeaking life into himself by saying, "It'll beall right." Someof his greatest passionswere having a competitive spiritand relaxing andenjoying the outdoorsfilled withall of God's creations. He alsoloved watching the great-grandchildrenrun andplay relentlessly in the yard, illustrating innocence,imagination, and vitality.
Leonwas preceded in death by three brothers: Brady Clark,Sylvester Poinsett, andMarlon Houston.
Hismemories will always be cherished by his; four children:Andrea (Charles) Gordon of Allenhurst, GA; Jesse Scott of Baltimore, MD; Michael (Marci) Scott of Atlanta, GA; Robert (Varonica) Scott of Stockbridge, GA;father, Henry Green of Savannah, GA;ten sisters: Hattie King,ZondraGreen,KenitraGreen, Freda (Mike)Clark, all of Richmond Hill, GA; Valerie Jackson of Macon, GA; Carolyn Mobley, Sylvia Demery, Kimberly (Alvin) Jenkins, andLavonyaGreen all of Savannah, GA; and Dorothy (Phillip) Jackson of Brunswick, GA;fourbrothers: Calvin (Leah) Fulwood of Atlanta, GA; Leo Morgan and Levi (Delores) Morgan both of Fleming, GA; and Byron Green of Ft. Meyers, FL;threesisters-in-law: Matilda (Warren) Riles of Midway, GA,Emma (Lewis)LowderofRiceboro, GA, and Theresa Lynn Poinsett of Richmond Hill, GA; one brother-in-law, George (Amalia) Berry of Lawrenceville, GA;threeaunts: LulaMae(Charlie)Fuller,Mary Fulwoodboth of Richmond Hill, GA, and Clara Stroman of Rochester, NY; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, anda host of other relatives and friends.
