She lived pass this promise,being blessed to have lived 91 years, 11 months and 13 days;bornDecember 19, 1931 in Midway, GA. She departed her fulfilling life peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at St Joseph Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA. Laura was the eighth child of nine children born to the late Sam and Ada Roberts in Midway, GA. Laura was thelast link, holding the family together.

She was employed in several positions, as a cook, housekeeper and factory worker in Liberty County, GA. However, she was most known for her biscuits at Ida Mae & Joe's Truck Stop. Laura was also a Caretaker for many of the families in Midway and Sunbury.

Mother Carswell fellowshipped with Midway First Presbyterian Church of Midway, GA all of her life. A woman of wisdom, great advisor and an attentive listener to whom ever needed her ears.

Mrs. Carswell was preceded in death by herhusband Isiah Carswell, her son Eugene Roberts, her brothers, Sam, Clarence,Molboro, James Roberts and Sam Green, her sisters Maggie Demere, Rozina Myers, Annie Lou Roberts, Ella Roberts and granddaughter Terasa Evans.

Laura was a loving and caring mom to three daughters Annie L. Barr, Felicia Carswell,Bowie, MD, Charlene Carswell, Washington, DC;daughter-in-law, Thelma Roberts, Aransas Pass;sisters-in-law, Rose Mary Roberts, Philadelphia, PA, Valencia Roberts, Jacksonville, FL,grandchildren and great grandchildren.Specialthanks toher care teamDr. Spencer Wheeler, Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Dr.Bishnol, Dr. Jeremy London, Dr. RobertKing, Dr. Sidney Bolch, Dr. Robert Macgregor, Dr. LarryHoresh,of Savannah, GA.
