Larry Darnell Richardson was born on June 1, 1959 to the late Eugene and Marcella Richardson in Hinesville GA.& At an early age he joined Wilderness Baptist Church and later became a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a 1977 graduate of Bradwell Institute in Hinesville, GA. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. His assignments included Lackland AFB, TX, Myrtle Beach AFB, SC, Bolling AFB, Washington DC, Osan AB, Republic of Korea and Kelly AFB, TX. While in the military he attended The University of Maryland and Military College based on duty assignment in pursuit of a degree in Business Management. After leaving the military, he was employed in various occupations to include Chemtall Incorporated as a Material Handler until health issues prevented him from continued employment.
Larry's passion was music. At a young age, he spent many hours listening and building his music collection. In high school, Larry worked as an Orderly at Liberty Memorial Hospital. Though he was advised (told) to save his money, his first stop every pay day was the record shop. He continued purchasing and acquiring music; an act that he continued throughout his military service and beyond.
He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Larry Darnell Richardson Jr., one granddaughter Autumn Richardson both of Atlanta, GA, three brothers Derrick Richardson of Capitol Heights, MD, Gregory Richardson of Atlanta, GA, and Anthony (Shelia) Richardson of Mitchellville, MD, two God-brothers William Bowman of Brandywine, MD and Stephen Williams of Atlanta, GA,; six aunts, Vernie J. Luckey of Hinesville, GA, Joann (Richard) Garlic of Fort Washington MD, Pamela (Willie) Griffin of Tampa, FL, Bertha Wigfall and Michelle Wigfall of Jacksonville, NC, Anne Wigfall of Jackson, SC,; uncles, William Washington of Savannah, GA, Joseph Price of Portland, OR and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The service will be heldJuly 16, 2022at Wilderness Baptist Churchat 2:00 p.m.Interment will be following the service.
