Katie Frasier Clemons was born to Henry B. Frasier and Emma Jane Frasier April 18, 1930,in McIntosh,Georgia. She was the fourth child out of ten. Katie departed this life on Monday, May 30, 2022,in Englewood, California.



Katie graduated from Liberty County Training High School in Riceboro,Georgia.She attended Savannah State College in Savannah,Georgia,where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.Shetaught at Hineshaw Elementary School in Hinesville, Georgia,for many years.



Katiemoved to Houston,where she met and married Benjamin Clemons. She enrolled at Texas Southern UniversityinHoustonand received a Master'sDegree in Elementary Education in 1962.



Afterward,Katie moved to Los Angeles, whereshe taught in the Los Angeles Unified School District for several years. Shealsohad the privilege of teaching in the Integration Movement at Noble Elementary School in theSan FernandoValley for three years. She retired in 1993.


Katie'sinterests, besides teaching,included gardening, traveling, going to the movies, attending plays, jazz music, line dancing and exercising.



Katie was a member of Founders Church of Religious Science, whereshewas a member of The Love Line Ministry.



Katie was also a member of the Eastern Star and the National Phi Delta Kappa Sorority.



Katie was precededin death by herfather,Henry Frasier;mother,Emma Jane Frasier;three sisters,Lula, Beulah and Alzada;andone brother,Primus.



Those left behind to cherish her memoriesarefour sisters, Verdie Criss, Houston;Mary Louise Smith, Bronx, New York;Annie Mae Stewart, Fleming,Georgia;and Erma Casey, Los Angeles;one brother,Charles Henry Frasier(Almarie), Odenton,Maryland;five nieces:Stephanie, Annette, Linda, Carolyn and Pamela;three nephews:Dale, Yosef and Bradley,andahost of relatives and friends.
