Johnny Lee Simpson Sr., received his final call from God on Sunday September 25, 2022 in Passaic New Jersey. With the love, care and laughs he left behind, he will surely be missed.
"Bubba" as he was affectionately known was born September 12, 1952 born in Jacksonville Florida to the late John Simpson and Evelyn Johnson, later to be adopted and raised by Bill and Alma Gaulden and also Eunice Simpson His bonus mom, who played an very important role in helping to raise him to become the loving, caring man he was.
John Lee loved to go fishing, travel, and spend time with his grandchildren, family and friends.
In addition to watching his western movies which you dare not interrupt because he was not moving.
John Lee received his education through Liberty County School System and later enlisted into the U.S. Army. Upon completion of duty, he returned to Liberty County and then shortly after moved to Passaic New Jersey. John Lee was a true "Jack of all Trades", he was a DJ, Truck driver and construction worker. For the remainder of his time, he owned his own business "Simpson Painting & Handyman Construction.
John Lee was the person who never met a stranger and would never leave you without a good laugh. He was preceded in death by his brother Willie Todd; his two sisters Mary and Michelle Todd.
John Lee is survived by his loving children Kevin Simpson (Phyllis); Cedric Brown; Candy Simpson; Johnny Simpson Jr; Zina Bass; and William Simpson. His siblings Tyrone Simpson, Emma Lewis, Cynthia Clancy, Melanie Griffin, Lisa Spurgeon, Lavette Bynum, Sheila Ford, Ronnie, Micheal and Terry Todd. And a host grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, friends.
