John Grant Jr.&"Little John" as he was affectionately known was born on May 25, 1934,in Dorchester,GA. He was the son of the lateJohn Grant Sr and Matilda Grant. He attended the public schools in Liberty County.In his early years,he became aMaster Mason of Limerick Lodge #437.He later moved to Passaic, NJ,where hemade gainful employment at AllState CanCorporation from 1961-1974. John then moved home to Midway, GAwhere he spentmanyyears as a bridgeforemanfor Hayes Construction Company.He retired in 1999.He was a devoted member and usher of Community Missionary Baptist Church until his health began to fail in 2019.

John Grant Jr.received his final call from God at 2:23 pm on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick, Georgia. He was surrounded by family.He leaves to mourn a loving and devoted wife Geraldine Grant of Brunswick, GA,a son Albert L. Grant of Ocala, FL,a daughter Bishop Mabel L. Burford of Hinesville, GA,a daughter Brinder Mae Grant of Midway, GA,a son John Grant III of Atlanta, GA,a daughter Arlene Grant Chipp (Willie) of Midway, GA,two step-sons DeWayne Bradley Sr of Atlanta, GAand Rickey Evans (Faye) of Brunswick, GA,six brothers:(Late) Thomas Grant, Willie GrantofPassaic,NJ, (Late)BobGrant,William Grant of Hinesville, GA,Ulysses Grant(Melissa) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL,James Grant (Tresa) of Midway, GA,four sisters:(Late) Matilda Stevens, Mary Matthews (Radford) of Midway, GA, (Late) Rutha Heath, Ida Tate (Elliott) of Midway, GAand a host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins,and friends.
