John Walter Baker (aka Sandy,&Sandman,& Cowboy) was born July 17,1948,to Richard and Nancy Baker.Johnwas raised in BowlingGreen,FL and attended Lillian R. Brown Elementary for a number of years. His family then moved back toLudowici,GA,where he attended Walker Elementary - Highschool. John joined the church at an early age. As the yearsprogressed,heacquired a jobas a roofer, which he later retired from.He was a fun and loving guy who enjoyed walking,dogs,fishing, and dancing. Most of all, he loved hisfamily,andhe wouldremind you of it every chance he got. Everyone that knows John knew he had to have his Budweiser and one of his many baseball caps.
"Whothe worry?" was his favorite saying. OnTuesday,June 27, 2023, God decided to pick a blooming flower from his garden, John. Johnwill truly be missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by hisparents,his wife (Mary Lee Baker),his daughter (Latasha Baker) , five brothers (Robert, Jessie, Leland, Richard, and Leroy Baker) and one sister (Lottie Baker).
He leaves to cherish his memories:Jerry Baker - Hargrove (Michelle)ofRiceboro, GA, Artis BakerofBowling Green, FL, Barbara Baker,ofOklahoma City, OK, and Stella Baker, Essie Gilkey (Marvin), and Myrtle Baker of Hinesville, GA,2sons,Brad Perry and Anthony Miller,ninegrandchildren , two great grandchildren , and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
